The overall arrangements and management of Temple and Ashram by the Trust is excellent. We pre-booked all arrangements like, stay at Sai Ashram Bhaktiniwas, Abhishek Pooja, Sai Satyavrat (Satyanarayana) Pooja and Dhoop Aarti (Evening) through Temple’s online service at nominal rate.
We avoided Thursday as on this day large number of devotees visit the temple for darshan. Visited Shirdih with spouse on 2nd March’21 to 4th March’21, reached from Mumbai by Air at evening. There are no words to describe the feeling of entering the Samathi Manthir and seeing Him. The security team does a great job of managing the crowds - just follow the rules and you will be fine. Thursdays and auspicious occasions such as Rama Navami are very busy. You need not pay for this service but I am certain a tip is appreciated. Just outside Gate 1 (which is where the online Aarthi Ticket holders queue) there is a place to keep your shoes and cell phones. Vendors will try to sell you roses but at some point, security checks will compel you to throw these away. “Om Sri Sai Nathaya Namah” continuously plays and it is the most beautiful feeling. Afterwards, you will outside and enter the area under the Neem tree. If you join the general queue (no payment required for the general queue) it may take much longer to get into the Samathi Manthir but ultimately everyone who is there will get to the front and everyone will receive Baba’s Darshan. There is the VIP Aarthi and VIP Darshan queue if you purchase online tickets. The only time when the Darshan queue is stopped is during the 4 Aarthi sessions and when the temple closes after Shej Aarthi each night to just after Kakkad Aarthi the next morning. The difference is that Aarthi takes place at a specific time while the Darshan queue is an ongoing continuously moving queue.
You have the option of purchasing Aarthi tickets and Darshan tickets online ( ). For Kakkad Aarthi, I joined the queue at 03h00 AM. However the queueing for the Aarthi starts hours beforehand. I thought I would share some info to make it easier on first time visitors: Daily, there are 4 Aarthi’s: Kakkad Aarthi ( Early Morning - 4.30AM), Madhyan Aarthi ( Mid Day 12 Noon), Dhoop Aarthi (Sunset 18h30) and Shej Aarthi ( Night 10h30). Entering Sai Samathi Manthir is like going home. Back to Shirdi and back to the Samathi of my Sai after 5 years.
